Oldest Fence Company in Central Pennsylvania

Dick Suter, founding partner of Suter Fencing, purchased what was then call Fox and Fox Hardware in 1948 after his service in Guam in World War II. At this time chain link fencing was still rather uncommon in central Pennsylvania backyards. When he bought the hardware store he discovered a box of chain link fence fittings in the basement. He had never built a fence before, but being a frugal person, he decided to use the fittings to build a chain link fence for a friend. His friend was so please that he soon Suter was installing more and more chain link yard fences.

What started out as a one-car garage operation, grew and grew until he purchased the present office/storage building in 1970. When his son Jim Suter, because his partner the business only continued to expand. Jim, now the sole proprietor with over 30 years of fence installation experience, prides himself on not only quality of his products but on the level of experience he brings to each project.
"I sell experience and product. There are few places where you can go and talk to someone who can give you an answer. That counts for a lot."
-Jim Suter
